Boys’ Soccer – JV
Derryfield’s JV soccer program is a competitive one that allows both experienced and beginning athletes to find playing time. The team schedule is eight to ten games per season, and every team member plays a minimum of one quarter of the game. Skill development mirrors the varsity program with the intent that interested players will already be comfortable with the tactics and vocabulary of the varsity program. Skill development, competition, fun, and the highest level of sportsmanship are core values for the program.

For the past twenty-six years Chris has coached soccer and ice hockey at New England Prep Schools. A three sport varsity athlete at Belmont Hill School, Chris’ soccer team captured the New England Championship in 1990, and finished first in the ISL in hockey and lacrosse. Chris attended Colby College where he captained the varsity soccer team and competed for the varsity hockey team. At Williston Northampton and Salisbury School, Chris worked with players at the varsity, junior varsity, and third levels and has enjoyed helping student-athletes develop skills, but more importantly become supportive teammates.

For the past six years, Kevin has worked with students at various sub-varsity levels of soccer as a head coach. His philosophy has always been focused around getting the most out of every player and supporting them through their developmental journey. Last season, as the head coach of the Boys’ JV Soccer Team, he was able to coach that team to their best record of the millennium, with one of the lowest total goals allowed in the team’s history. Kevin is eager to bring his experience and energy to support the JV Cougars on the soccer pitch and continue to encourage his team to work toward their full potential.
In addition to his soccer experience, Kevin is an avid golfer and outdoorsman, finding himself going down mountains in the winter, and up them in the warmer months.
