The Derryfield Multicultural Student Union held its annual potluck in the Commons on Friday, February 21. Whether you were tempted by Malpua (a fried Nepali dish) or henna art, there was plenty to keep you fed and entertained at an event filled with color and sound.

The dining hall was brimming with flags, fans, and tablecloths representing many nations. The banquet table, which spanned the width of the room, overflowed with an assortment of foods that reflected the international composition of Derryfield. Once you had your fill, you could have your hands decorated, your face painted or your fortune told through the reading of coffee grounds. Nepalese dances were demonstrated by Sofia Koshy ‘26 and Dina Adhikari ‘26. Emily Sanchez Torrez ‘27 taught some traditional Latin dance moves to enthusiastic pupils.

Director of Equity and Belonging, Anela Kruščica, summarized the event,

“The MSU potluck was a joyful evening in which we shared food, stories and culture. The members of the MSU are thankful to our  community members for coming to celebrate with us, and we were also thrilled to welcome visitors from local high schools.”
