Scholastic Art Awards Announced

Creative Arts Department Co-Chair Joe Acone announced that 20 Derryfield individual students and 50 works of art received recognition for the 2025 New Hampshire Scholastic Art Awards. Over two days, professional artists, college admissions counselors, and retired educators juried thousands of works at Pinkerton Academy. Derryfield students submitted 109 pieces, and nearly 50% earned recognition.

Seven students received Gold Key recognition for their work: Kelsey Beekman ’27, Megan Chu ’27, Liesel Gregor ’26, Grace Howe ’28, Meredith MacWilliam ’25, Griffin Moore ‘26, and Julia Small ’27. Their submissions will now be considered for national awards, scholarships, and an exhibition opportunity at the Scholastic Art Awards celebration at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

An exhibition and award ceremony for the New Hampshire awardees will take place on Sunday, February 9, at Pinkerton’s Stockbridge Theater. Grades 7-10 will be recognized at 10:30 a.m., and grades 11-12 at 12:00 p.m. These works will also be on display in the Lyceum Gallery at Derryfield in March.
