The weekend of May 18, the Derryfield equestrian team trailered to the state meet at Brookvale Pines Farm in Brentwood, and landed an unprecedented six blue ribbons.
Leah Munoz ’24 earned a championship title in two jumping classes and one flat class. Annabelle Crotty ’24 finished in the top five in all of her four classes. Lucie Emond ’25 earned a reserve state championship and two other top ten finishes. Maddie Garceau ’26 was crowned state champion in both of her dressage tests. Vera Blake ’26 earned her first state championship in one jumping class and finished in the top 5 of her other 3 classes.
The Derryfield ground team (Zora Brady ’24, Lane Daniels ’24, Caden McLain ’24, and Roman Sckaal ’24) had a season high finish, and earned the reserve state championship in the grooming box challenge. Brady and Daniels also earned ribbons in the written practicum, earning third and sixth, respectively.
